Outdoor Pickleball/Tennis/Beach Picnic Sat., 10/17 3PM
October 17 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Now that Gov. Cooper has revised the COVID 19 restrictions to allow outside gatherings of up to 50 persons, we are planning an outdoor event for Cape Fear Ski and Outing Club.
Unfortunately, it looks as though we will have a wash out for Sunday’s planned event, so we are rescheduling to Sat, Oct. 17, at 3PM, at the pickleball/ tennis courts behind the Police Station on Oak Island located at 4621 East Oak Island Drive. Bring your pickleball paddles, tennis rackets, and balls and play round robin with whoever shows up.
We will have the added benefit of an outdoor concert at Middleton Park beginning at 6:00 with The Sand Band, playing Carolina Beach music!
There is plenty of parking between the courts and the beach.
After playing we’ll walk 2 blocks to the beach and enjoy some socially distanced beach time. Bring a chair or towel, and what you’d like to eat or drink (we won’t be sharing due to COVID restrictions). There is a PUBLIX and several restaurants nearby if you’d like to pick up something. Remember no glass bottles are allowed on the Oak Island Beaches.
If you are not interested in playing pickleball or tennis, come on anyway for some beach time, listen to the band and a chance to get to see someone outside of your family.
If you’d like to join us, please send RSVP to email@example.com so we may contact you should we need to cancel due to weather or any other reason.
