Outdoor Pickleball/Tennis/Beach Picnic Sun., 10/11 3PM
October 11 @ 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT
Now that Gov. Cooper has revised the COVID 19 restrictions to allow outside gatherings of up to 50 persons, we are planning an outdoor event for Cape Fear Ski and Outing Club.
We will meet at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday October 11, at the pickleball/ tennis courts behind the Police Station on Oak Island located at 4621 East Oak Island Drive. Bring your pickleball paddles, tennis rackets, and balls and play round robin with whoever shows up.
There is plenty of parking between the courts and the beach.
After playing, we’ll walk 2 blocks to the beach and enjoy some socially distanced beach time. Bring a chair or towel, and what you’d like to eat or drink (we won’t be sharing due to COVID restrictions). There is a PUBLIX and several restaurants nearby if you’d like to pick up something, and the Elks have a chicken fry earlier that day (noon to 4) at 106 East Dolphin Drive (corner of Dolphin and Middleton) if you want to come a little early and pick up a chicken dinner. Remember no glass bottles are allowed on the Oak Island Beaches.
If you are not interested in playing pickleball or tennis, come on anyway for some beach time and a chance to get to see someone outside of your family.
If you’d like to join us, please send RSVP to email@example.com so we may contact you should we need to cancel due to weather or any other reason.
